![]() ![]() I really, really wanted to play this, but a line has to be drawn somewhere. This gutter practice is infuriating and I refuse to indulge it, even at a heavy discount. I just really, really, really hope that Bethesda doesn’t pull this crap with Wolfenstein II. If “AAA” publishers continue to pull crap like this, then frankly, I’d rather they stay the hell away from Switch, which is a tremendous shame as I was really looking forward to this (and possible future Rockstar releases), and these scummy publishers conveniently inform us of their dirty schemes mere weeks prior to release. They did, after all, ship GTAV on PC on 7 DVD-9s (and factoring in the disc artwork as well, would cost about the same as, if not more, than a 32GB Switch cartridge), so I don’t understand why they decided to produce such a substandard product for their Switch debut. The controls have been reworked to suit Joy-Con gameplay through a new Joy-Con mode, which features gyroscopic, gesture-based controls, HD rumble and new wide and over-the-shoulder camera angles, plus contextual touch-screen controls for when you're playing on the go. So, not only are we getting the weakest version of the software, but Rockstar decided to leave out half the game’s content from the cartridge (which is completely unplayable without the mandatory 14GB download!). Rockstar has updated a couple of key aspects of LA Noire for the Switch. ![]() I don’t, for example, buy movies on disc only to be asked to download the other half elsewhere, requiring me to provide my own disc in the process, so I don’t see why this contemptible anti-consumer practice is in any way, shape, or form acceptable, *especially* when the game could very well have shipped on a 32GB cartridge. Brandish thy whip and sharpen thy wit Enter the ancient ruins of La-Mulana, filled with nefarious traps, brain-tingling puzzles, and deadly monsters that stand between you and a powerful treasure. And yes, there is in fact a “Switch tax” on this, in the form of not having the GD game on the GD cartridge! I’d rather pay the full $89 and have the entirety of the software on cartridge.
